The range reflects the ever changing requirements of the pioneering laboratory and matches these needs with an extensive range of standard and custom built units.

Robotic and LEV

Increased safety measures required in the modern laboratory have led to the requirement for more equipment and operations to be enclosed in ventilated safe areas.

Traditionally, this need has been met by the installation of fume cabinets. However, the relatively low risk of some operations combined with the high energy usage of this equipment has led to Mach-Aire developing a highly flexible range of ventilated enclosures. Initially designed to enclose robotic equipment, additional units have been developed to enclose a multitude of equipment culminating in specialist units such as flow / high containment weigh units.

Safety remains the primary requirement and units are tested to provide the high containment levels normally associated with fume cabinets ie: BS7258 Parts 1 & 4 and latest European norms. These containment levels have been achieved at low flow rates (as low as 100Litres / sec) with working apertures restricted for normal working conditions.

Units vary from single framed enclosures to extremely large, heavily serviced units complete with multi-sash arrangements. Materials of construction vary from aluminium framed acrylic units, to fully welded coated steel structures fitted with toughened glass sashes. Units can be provided with horizontal and vertically moving sashes.

Weigh Stations

The Mach-Aire weigh station has been designed specifically to allow the safe weighing out of powders and liquids within a controlled, low turbulence airflow.

Containment performance
When tested in accordance with BS 7258 and Invent SafeCheck methods the units provided excellent containment both under static and dynamic disturbance test conditions.

Containment: Better than 0.0001 ppm with 3l/m 10% SF6
Operation Protection: Better than 105 with 3l/m 10% SF6

Units are available in 3 standard widths of 600, 900 and 1200 with special sizes available on request. Weigh stations can be provided with filtered recirculating air extract systems with multiple units connected to one system if required.
