FlexiLab

Relocatable Fume Cupboards

In 1999, Mach-Aire was selected by GSK to manufacture a Fume Cabinet which could be integrated into their new Flexible Laboratory. Mach-Aire has maintained a program of continuous development and now a full range of high performance fume cabinets can be offered along with Ventilated Enclosures (LEV’s) and high performance Weigh Stations.

The Range

Bench Model Fume Cupboard

This pre-engineered, fully tested and certified unit allows quick and easy installation, requiring minimum personnel and handling equipment. The unit can be designed for both VAV (Varying Air Volume) and CAV (Constant Air Volume) applications with minimum modification. Read more

Walk-in Fume Cupboards

In addition to the standard bench mounted FlexiLab cabinet, a range of complimentary walk-in units are available. The construction materials of the walk-in units are identical to those of the bench-mounted range with the additional option of a stainless steel work surface.

Features
  • Twin rise frame and fall sashes fitted with PTFE glide horizontal opening windows.
  • Increased for larger equipment.
  • Recessed drip cups and service outlets to give maximum internal working width.
  • Intermediate work surface, fitted on roller brackets for easy removal and is adjustable for height.
  • Pass through ports between external fascia and internal chamber to allow the passage of cable and plugs from electrical sockets.

Local Extract Ventilation Units (LEV's)

Where a ventilation unit is required for low risk/hazard operations, Mach-Aire manufacture a range of LEV units operating at low extract volumes (typical 100 litres/min) whilst providing containment levels equal to that of the Fume Cabinet range.

Features
  • Can be provided with support frames or for location on existing bench work.
  • Can be fitted with mechanical and electrical services mounted on easily accessible pods.
  • Offered in a wide variety of sizes as standard.
  • Can be supplied in special sizes to suit individual requirements.
  • Quick release service connections as ‘FlexiLab’ Fume cabinets.

Weigh Station

The closed top weigh station was developed to provide a low volume energy/energy usage extract unit, which enabled the safe weighing of hazardous materials in minimum disturbance conditions.

The closed top weigh station was developed to provide a low volume energy/energy usage extract unit, which enabled the safe weighing of hazardous materials in minimum disturbance conditions.

The low level extract, via the removable and partially perforated base, is connected to the extraction system via a flexible duct at either high or low level dependant on location. Areas drawn via the perforated top and below the front hinged visor for maximum containment. The unit is available in three standard widths of 600, 900 and 1200mm.

Features
  • Low extraction rate (56Litres/sec for 600mm wide unit rising to 112 Litres/sec for 1200mm wide unit).
  • Easy installation on existing bench work or supplied with support frame.
  • Can be fitted with extraction filtration.
  • Easily read non-electrical instrumentation.
Performance

In the absence of manufacturing and performance standard all sizes of unit have been type tested in accordance with the fume cupboard standard BS7258 : Part 4, containment levels achieved are those normally associated with a high performance fume cupboard i.e 0.005ppm (mean) and 0.010ppm (max.).
