Custom-built Fume Cupboards

This unit was custom designed, to accommodate large samples, and provides easy access via a full height horizontally sliding door.

Water and Gas outlets are mounted on a shelf, within the side wall to maximise the available space within the chamber. Medical gases are conveyed into the chamber via quick connect swagelok fittings. A by-pass grille is fitted to the lower level of the fixed panel to ensure that the internal chamber is efficiently purged.

Upper cloaking panels manufactured to suit the building structure.

All aerodynamic fume cupboards are made from a twin skin construction, with the outer skin generally made from epoxy powder-coated corrosion resistant mild steel, while the inner liners can be selected from a wide range of corrosion resistant materials eg: stainless steel, solid grade laminate, toughened glass, fire resistant fibreglass, aluminium, PVC or polypropylene. Work surfaces and services are similarly available from a wide range of materials and model designs.

H.E.P.A. Filtered Air Containment Collar

316 quality stainless steel ventilated collar, which once attached to the "bulk loading" end of a Powder Drum Tip Hopper, produces a gentle air curtain (inflowing) which allows the bulk powder or drum to penetrate, but contains any "back-splash" of product away from the operators, and surrounding environment. H.E.P.A. filtered air is evenly supplied to the aperture plenum chamber and uniformly distributed around the perimeter of the annular ring via double skinned polyester micro-mesh panels.

Rigid P.V.C. Biological isolator

This mobile isolator was produced to house "tall-standing" equipment which needed to be accessed on two levels. The feasibility of using such materials and manufacturing concepts was assessed by the client prior to the eventual equipping of multiple Category 3 containment suites with 12 No. isolators of varying shapes and sizes.

The isolator envelope is fabricated form Rigid P.V.C. which is a tough, lightweight material combining stronger mechanical properties with excellent, superior chemical resistances as compared to flexible P.V.C.

Gauntlets, ventilated half suits, piped and electrical services, etc., together with H.E.P.A. filter supply and extract systems, are all easily and effectively integrated into this type of isolator at order or retrofitted at a later date.

3-Door Personnel Air Shower

Completely self-contained pre-wired, fully equipped Personnel Air Shower helps solve decontamination problems of personnel entering into Clean Rooms. "Wheel-in, plug-in and walk in".

The operator stands in a closed cubicle, subjected to high velocity H.E.P.A. filtered airflows of between 20-30 m/sec, a force that ensures efficient scrubbing action to the clean room garments to remove particulate matter.

The air brushing action is obtained from rows of nozzle jets discharging high pressure air angled to the body. The design of the jets is such that the scavenging air reaches the body of the operator with sufficient force to disturb particles lying on the surface of the garment. Unwanted particles are "skidded off" and not driven more firmly into the clothing's texture. Once airborne, the particles are carried away by the downdraught. The doors of the Air Shower are electrically interlocked to make it impossible to pass through into the Clean Room without undergoing the cleaning cycle.

Standard two door walk-through showers, as well as multiple (3 door or more) door units, tunnel air showers and product scavenging showers, are supplied subject to specification requirements.

Downflow Ventilated Dissecting Table

Mach-Aire's range of Downflow Ventilated Dissecting Tables are ideal for pathology specimen dissection, histology trimming and staining, or any other semi-hazardous bench function requiring extraction at source. All models are free standing and manufactured from 100% 316 grade, satin polished stainless steel. Sizes range from 1.5 metre up to 3 metres made in one piece. Above 3 metres run, units are connected together.

Standard items fitted are: Hot and Cold, lever action mixer tap, sump flush-down controls, hand spray shower with long-length flexible piping, sink (with or without macerator) and extracted sump with perforated worktop. Extraction can either be supplied locally or as part of Mach-Aire package. A range of pre-filters, H.E.P.A. filters and chemically impregnated carbon filters for efficient removal of formaldehyde are also available from our stores.
