Mach-Aire is delighted to announce that they have been awarded the contract to design, build and install 18 Classic Standard fume cupboards and associated fume extract systems at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) Grangegorman.
DIT Grangegorman is currently undergoing a transformation as a new city centre campus is under development. Following the extensive redevelopment that has recently taken place at UCD’s Science Centre South, work has begun on the DIT Research hub.
Mach-Aire was appointed by the main contractor, BAM Contractors, to design, build and install 18 Classic Standard fume cupboards within a mixture of teaching and research laboratories, to meet the University’s specific requirements. The VAV fume cupboards will include a combination of 1200, 1500 and 1800mm wide units.
In addition to the fume cupboards, Mach-Aire has also been appointed by T Bourke & Co Ltd, the M&E contractor, to manufacture and install a pressure controlled VAV system, enabling the air volumes from each of the fume cupboards to be controlled independently, whilst attaining the design air change rate in each Laboratory space. Mach-Aire will design, build and install the associated uPVC fume extracts, which are to be GRP coated on the exterior of the building. All extracts will be pressure tested and compliant with DW 154.
The project will be complete by mid 2015.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with both BAM Contractors and T Bourke’s to provide DIT Grangegorman with a complete fume cupboard and extract solution for this exciting new development. This contract award reinforces Mach-Aire’s commitment to provide innovative clean air solutions for customers within Ireland.” said Steve Milford, Mach-Aire’s Regional Sales Manager.
