Mach-Aire is delighted to announce that they have been awarded a contract to design, build and install 10 narrow stile fume cupboards at the University of York.
The University of York is currently building an extension to their teaching laboratories within the Biology department to improve and increase the facilities for their biology students.
Mach-Aire was appointed by the main contractor, Shepherd Construction, to design and build a fume cupboard solution. The University was keen to maximise space within the fume cupboards to allow 2 students to work comfortably at each unit. Mach-Aire designed a 1500mm ‘narrow stile’ fume cupboard, which had an interior working space of 1420mm to meet the University’s specific requirements.
In addition to the 9 × 1500mm bench mounted ‘narrow stile’ fume cupboards Mach-Aire will also design, build and install an innovative 1500mm narrow stile DDA compliant accessible fume cupboard, which offers a unique variable height work surface to meet the specific requirements of the University.
The project will be complete during 2014.
