Mach-Aire has designed, built and installed an aseptic pharmaceutical clean room for Pinderfields and Pontefract Hospitals joint venture.
Pinderfields and Pontefract Hospitals joint venture was established to build two new hospitals near Wakefield in 2005, under the PFI scheme. As part of the new build, a pharmacy department was required with an aseptic pharmacy clean room facility. The facility was to be used for the manufacture and dispensing of cytotoxic and non-cytotoxic drugs to treat patients within the hospital.
Mach-Aire was commissioned by the main contractor, Balfour Beatty, to build a new pharmacy aseptic suite. In addition to building the new clean room facility, Mach-Aire provided a complete solution for the client, ensuring the clean room was fully operational before handover, by designing, building and installing three ICT (negative pressure) isolators and two horizontal laminar flow cabinets to meet the client’s specifications.
Mach-Aire completed the commissioning of the new clean room in early 2010.
