Mach-Aire has designed, built and installed an aseptic pharmaceutical clean room facility within the Pharmacy Department at North Manchester General Hospital.
North Manchester General Hospital were looking to upgrade their existing facility to develop a pharmacy dispensing clean room. They required a facility that would enable them to manufacture cytotoxic and non-cytotoxic medication on-site in a sterile environment, for the treatment of patients at the hospital.
Mach-Aire was employed as the main contractor on this project to design the clean room facility, making the best use of the limited space available within the existing Pharmacy Department. Mach-Aire also acted as the central point of contact for Building Control to ensure project compliance was maintained, also being responsible for the health and safety of all employees and subcontractors on site. It was essential that the pharmacy department remained operational during the construction phase of the project, therefore Mach-Aire effectively segregated the construction area and ensured work was completed out of core operational hours to minimise disruption to the client and hospital patients.
In addition to designing, constructing and installing the aseptic clean room facility Mach-Aire also designed and installed one ICT (negative pressure) and two IPP (positive pressure) isolators and supplied clean room accessories, including clean room chairs, step-over benches and CCTV, to meet the client’s specifications.
